Let's talk concealer

Why are there so many colors?!

So let's talk about corrective concealers.  Corrective concealers are generally the small circles colors on the right of the above palette.  They usually come in green, yellow, purple, and orange.

You maybe thinking, I'm not an alien! My skin tone is in the brown family! There is a crazy, yet reasonable explanation for this.

First we need to know what complementary colors are.  Complementary colors are colors that when paired they create a neutral color.  They basically cancel each other out.  Here is a cute little color chart:
Your complementary color is the color directly across from it.  So for example:
Red and Green
Blue and Orange
Yellow and.... anyone? anyone?  Yep! Purple!

Okay, so what does all this even mean?  I mean, again, I'M NOT GREEN OR PURPLE!  Yes, young grasshopper, but what color is your acne usually? Or if you accidentally bang your forehead on a table when you dropped your pen, what color is your bruise?  See where this is headed?

So.... lets starts with the one that corrects acne and scars....

Green - correct acne and scars
Orange - corrects veins and super dark circles (if they are more of a blue tone)
Purple - corrects any type of yellow tinge to the skin (sallowness)
Pink - corrects and brightens any greyish coloration to skin, (its not on the chart, you're welcome!)
Yellow - corrects bruises and dark circles (if they appear more of a purple tone)

So hopefully this helps you to figure out what to do with all those extra colors in your concealer palette that has been sitting there.

How to change blog author name on Blogger!

I thought I would share this because I'm not too HTML savvy, but when I searched how to change the author name for each post, it required a bit of HTML.  I found another way to do it, if you're willing to change your display name completely.  I did not want my display name to be my name anymore for privacy reasons, so I was able to change it, thus changing the author for the blog as well.

First at the top right hand corner, click where it has your current display name.

Then click on "Blogger Profile"

You will see a page like this:

Click on "edit profile"

Toward the middle of the screen when the page first loads you will see it says "display name".

Simply change this name and then save.  It will then change your author name as well.  To double check, head back to your settings to make sure.

Hope this helped some!

Stiletto Nails

Image

I have ALWAYS kept my nails square shaped, but yesterday I decided to try Stiletto shaped nails.  Now its not exactly stiletto in that my nails were a bit short so they are not as pointy.  I'm still unsure of how I feel about them.
